It's the baby with "THOSE EYES"!!!

I throughly enjoy it when I am out somewhere and the topic of this blog comes up. I can't count how many times I have heard the phrase, "oh my goodness, that baby that has those beautiful eyes on your blog is so cute"! I know exactly who they are talking about!
We are really late getting baby Sam's 9 month pictures done since he is already 11 months old! His 1 year session will be VERY soon! I have some cool ideas that I really hope his mom lets me do at his 1 year session!?!

We met up downtown yesterday and got some great shots of little Sammy hanging out! We wore him out but he did such a good job and was so so so sweet. I honestly LOVE this baby. I say it all the time but these babies who I have known now since they were in their mommies bellies, it is tough to choke back the tears as we approach the one year milestone. It so cliche' to say, but I cannot believe he is already nearly ONE. Where does the time go?

I have an announcement that I will be making on my blog in the next few days, but for now you will just have to admire my favorite little Sammy!

MY little man!

I can't decide color or the other??? What do you think?

I cannot believe that my little guy is turning three next week. Woah. Where has the time gone? It honestly gives me heartache to see how quickly he has grown!

I really enjoy this little guy and thank God that I do because he is a handful, very demanding, and SUCH a momma's boy. I'll admit it... he has me tightly wrapped around his finger. I never thought he would be a mommas boy and don't get me wrong he likes his dad too... but seriously if I move an inch away from him, he freaks and needs to know where I am. He is happiest if I am setting somewhere watching him doing whatever it is that he is doing. It's the cutest thing if I am gone for any amount of time. When I return, he acts like he hasn't seen me in 3 years! So full of joy!

He weighs WELL over 30 lbs. now but insists that he needs to be carried everywhere... and only by ME. I do have a very strong left arm from lifiting him all the time! I could probably win an arm wrestling competition now.

Some of my favorite things that he has done lately...

-Jason was getting after him and he turned around and in the sternest, gruffest, (and cutest ;-) voice... said, "I told you ONCE daaaaad"... all while having the entire motions to go with it, stomped his foot and threw his arm in front of himself..... it was SO hard not to laugh.

-When we were on Spring Break he go into trouble for something and he got a time out... it was all over and we were on our merry way... he turns to me out of the blue and says (really snotty tone) "I can't like it u put me in tiiime oooout" yes, he shook his his when he said time out... ask me next time you see me... ill be glad to demonstrate! LOL He really doesn't use the word "doesn't"... he says... cant... aka, I can't like it...

-He refuses to go to the bathroom all of the sudden anywhere but home... and on the RARE occasion at a restraunt restroom. It makes me crazy because he does the potty dance sometimes for hours but just WILL.NOT.GO.

-He LOVES animals with a passion. His best friend is his dog Niko and Zoie our other dog we have right now (that's another story) he loves to sit and hold and pet her forever! So sweet. He got to see 2 day old baby kittens today at the barn where Kenedey takes horse riding lessons and he was just in awe. He told the girl that the kitties need to go back in their box and snuggle and he was very concerned about why they didn't have eyes yet... awww!

-At night when he gets tired he will come to me and say... "momma u roooock me?" I try to just drop what I am doing and go roooock him because I know those moments are fleeting. :-( Not much baby left... ill savor what's left though.

Anyway... he's a royal PAIN to photograph because he moves ALL.THE.TIME. Honestly he can't sit still for like .0005 seconds unless he's asleep and then he's soooo sweet! A few weeks ago my assistant Tyler KINDLY agreed to take some shots of him downtown Chelsea. Carson had a great time, but as I was looking through the shots he got, half of them Carson is running away from me and it's the back of him. Good thing I think those shots are cute! So all you mom's out there... when I am at your shoot and your son is being "all-boy" and I say I COMPLETELY understand... trust me, I really do!

Tyler, as always... thank you so much for your patience with Carson. I definitely couldn't have gotten any shots of him! Here's what I got of him yesterday!!!

A little... errr BIG road trip!

Well I have begun to think that I enjoy making life difficult for myself! No surprise right? A fellow photog (Wendy) mentioned that she and some others were going to a field of blue flowers over by West Bloomfield Michgian. I thought... oooh that sounds beautiful and I love Wendy's work, it will totally be worth driving over there to check it out.

After a 90 minute car ride (thank GOD for built in DVD players) we made it to our destination. It turned out to be a nature trail but no field with blue flowers... or at least what Wendy and I had in mind. I found the blue flowers and made the most of our trip over there!

I haven't done a "true" photoshoot of Jack since he turned 4 and he is going to be turning 6 very soon! The nature trail was a great location for him. He was able to run, jump, climb over and on things and he was such a great sport about the whole thing. Lauren... she wasn't exactly thrilled because I had pumped her up so much about these great flowers and they were tiny! She let me know more than once how cold she was and how little the flowers were! She's funny! However, she looked adorable sporting her new outfit that I got to assemble for her. She is the perfect kid for me to get my little girl shopping fix for! Kenedey is 12 and sooo not into cutesy things anymore. But Lauren, the more pink the BETTER! No wonder she is my girl!

We brought Carson along who was such a whiner. Surprise right mom? He wanted to be carried and we walked a LONG way and I hate to tote his heavy butt... suprise again right mom? (We just spent time doing some walking at Sea World recently with my mom and he was a PAIN)!!!

Anyway, we did get some cute shots so ill shut up already and share a few!

He is an absolute natural in front of the camera.

I had a terrible time......

narrowing down this post to six pictures...

Where to begin? The pictures will speak for themselves, however... this family was absolutely beautiful. We did this shoot at baby Taylor's grandmas home and it couldn't have woked out more perfectly. Beautiful lighting, beautiful baby, beautiful textures, beautiful fabrics... beautiful everything!

I got to witness Taylor rolling over for the first time!!! She was an absolute joy to photography and was just as calm and relaxed as she could be! Grandma had some new furniture that she let Taylor model on and Taylor did a little cristening of it and peed on the one piece of furniture that her mommy was concerned about! Isn't that the way it goes? Grandma couldnt be upset for too long after Taylor gave most of her smiles to Grandma!

See where she gets her good looks?

Thank you so much Erica, David. Taylor and Sonia! I cant wait to see what the next year brings with your little sweetie!
Oh what the heck... one more! This dress she is wearing is her christening dress. It was made by her great aunt out of Erica's (Taylor's mommy) wedding dress. OMG... GORGEOUS!!!

These girls...

I met this wonderful set of cousins at a Mom 2 Mom sale that I did a few months ago. I saw them from afar and was admiring their outfits. Their mom's who happen to have incredible taste in clothing came by my table to chat. I knew right away I wanted to photograph them!

Their moms and I had a great chat and I got to learn a little bit about these two sweeties. They have an incredible story and after spending the day with them today, they are just as beautiful on the inside as the outside!
Their moms are sisters and are part of a set of identical quadruplets! That's amazing in itself, but... here's the other cool part. These girls were adopted from Guatelmala and their birthdays are within just days (correct me if I am wrong moms, but maybe its one day... my memory stinks!) They really are two peas in a pod and you can see the connection they share in the photo below where they are giggling and laughing... I love the story that photo tells! Good times!
Girls, I had sooo much fun today hanging out with you. It was truly a pleasure! You two are going to do great things in this world and you are sooo special, thank you for taking the time to be such beautiful girls in front of my camera today! You did awesome!
