Upcoming sessions

I wanted to share a site that I absolutely love! I often have families who contact me prior to their sessions and ask "What should we wear?" It's a great question!

My go to answer that I always say... there are a few go to ideas you can use however... the sessions that end up being my favorite are the ones where they follow my advice and "GO BIG"!!!

GO BIG means something different to everyone, but when I say go big... be unique, accessorize, and don't be afraid to go with that favorite outfit you have been eyeing! Photo sessions are the perfect time to push the everyday to the next level.

I found this amazing designer who sells her items on ETSY and the options are adorable and very unique! I keep tabs over there -------> on the side, so you can find these unique boutiques easily.

Happy Valentines Day 2010

I feel like just last week was Christmas! How can we already be approaching Valentines Day?

Are you looking for something fun, new and different for your child's valentine cards?

This Friday from 2-7pm @ Holly's Studio in Grass Lake, we will be hosting our first annual Valentines Day photo sessions. We have some great packages available and look forward to seeing you there!

We have some fun things planned which including fresh flowers for the little girls (that's all im wililng to share for now) and "I love Mom" tatoo's for the guys!

Newborn Casting Call #1

I had a great time yesterday hanging out with the adorable Roman. Isn't that a great name? It is such a strong name. Thank you Roman and family for letting me use your handsome little guy for some newborn practice! He is wonderful! Enjoy your sneak peek! More to come!

It's taken me forever to get these on here! *disclaimer... blogger does horrible things to pictures, the color on these is much nicer*

Last year I started offering "guest books" for my wedding clients and wanted to share one of them with you. These books are used for your guests to sign in and leave messages for you at the wedding and the reception. They make a great keepsake and a super unique twist on the "normal" guest book.

Ginger was so kind to take pictures of her album after it was all done and sent them to me for me to share. She even took them outside for some natural light! Ginger you are the BEST! ;-) She knows I love available light!

Looking forward to getting their album finished soon! Will be sure to share that one as well!

2010 Newborn Casting Call

Hi everyone!

It's that time of year again where I am in the slower season and ready to hone in on a few skills and do some practice. I have just purchased some new items for newborns and im ready to get going on some fun new shots!

Here's what we are looking for this year.

*newborns 12 days old and younger

*patient parents ;-) These practice sessions take some time, so we need willing parents who don't mind just relaxing until we get the shots. This is going to take sleepy babies with full bellies and the willingness to just roll with the punches.

*special items that you have for your newborn and you want to use in your session.

What's in it for you?

*A free session ($50 value).

*If you have twins... twins will recieve a free session, $50 print credit and 2 free 8x10's

*A free 8x10 photo.

*additional prints will be available for purchase at 20% discounted price from our general pricing.

*Not to be combined with any other offers.

*We would love to have parents be involved in the photos, however it's not a requirement.

Session must be complete before April 31, 2010

Session can take place at your home where you are comfortable or in my home/studio.

First and foremost I want to say Thank You. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you first to my family. Those of you who have supported me and been my cheerleaders. Your confidence in me is the very core of what has helped me make this dream a reality. Thank you to my children, thank you for sharing your mommy with the people I call "clients" and who I have to go "picture" as Carson would say! I do this all for you two, Kenedey and Carson. You are my heart and you two bring me more joy than you will ever know. Thank you to my handful of friends who I know are my true friends, your "realness" means the world to me, thank you for all the late night talks and hugs. I would never be successful without your referrals and your swift kick in the rear that I sometimes need! I love it when you keep me REAL!

This past year has been an absolutely incredible year for me from a business perspective. I have found a career that fulfills me in so many ways, some that I never even dreamed were possible. I have met so many new and wonderful people (who I now consider friends) who I don't think our paths would have ever crossed had it not been for this business. I am not kidding when I say I have the most amazing clients EVER. I cherish the fact that you invite me into your life and share your families. I am so lucky to be able to capture these moments and hope they become something you have forever.

2008 was a tough year for me and 2009 was a huge make it or break it kind of thing for me. I had a huge hard drive failure/crash in 2008 and it broke my heart and I handled it very poorly. I couldn't even share it publicly because it was such a heart ache. I didn't handle it well at all but what I can say now looking back and walking through 2009 with my head held high... I overcame it. I didn't break it... I MADE IT!!! 2009 held so many amazing moments photographically speaking.

So... lets take a look at a few of my favorites from 2009. I have chosen these basically randomly, but more because of the memory they provide rather than because they are the best. Some you have seen, others probably not! They are not the "perfect" photos, but they mean A LOT!
