2015 Celebrate Mom Event - Lenawee County Michigan Photographer

From the moment you hold your first child in your arms, you know you will never be the same.

You may long for the person you were before. Worries get bigger, nights get longer, days become more full. But LOVE GROWS STRONG.

Don't forget, there is a last time for everything. There will come a time when you will feed your baby for the very last time. They will fall asleep on you after a long day and it will be the last time you hold your sleeping child. These moments are fleeting.

So often us moms spend our time nurturing our families and are busy taking photos of our kids' big moments. How will we have have the opportunity to capture our place within these beautiful fleeting moments?

Too much of a Mother's life goes undocumented. We don't get to see the way their smile turns in such a way, as pride for her children glows. They don't know how she spends time searching for just the perfect treat in the grocery aisles to thrill her children, or the way she arranges her day to be there for those special moments.

I know its tough to step outside of our comfort zone and step in front of the camera. Too often we won't because we only see our imperfections. However, I know when I see photos of my mother during the time I was growing up... the last thing I see is imperfections. What I do see is... the way I remember her hands. I feel the way she would squeeze me for a good hug, or kiss my temple and call me Care-Bear.

So let your children see the way you looked at them. Let them see how much you loved them. Because nothing will ever compare to the value of the memories you create. Nobody is perfect. But your are perfectly their Mother. So please... don't be afraid of that.

I am very excited to be able to offer this event this year. I am only offering 7 session times, so if this is for you, please book immediately. Spaces have already been spoken for just as I introduced the ideas to many of my clients.

PLEASE NOTE:

1)This is NOT happening on Mother’s Day. It is the weekend before (May 2, 2015).

2)Multi-generational sessions are encouraged but due to time constraints, 

I encourage booking back to back sessions to allow for enough time for hair & makeup for all subjects.

3)Due to the limited availability for this event, session fees are due at time (within 24 hours) of booking and are non-refundable. 

4)No Dads please. This event is reserved for moms, grandmas, aunts, and their child/ren. 

This is not a full family photo session. It is a special photo event to “celebrate moms”.

Maternity Session - Southeast Michigan Photographer

Happy Thursday everyone! I mentioned in my last post that I am going to be making a conscious effort to get back to blogging. I took some time to think through what I might blog about over the last few days. I obviously will consistently share new photos and sessions from past and present. However, its a change of seasons around here in my family, and blogging has always been a great outlet for me, so stay tuned and I will be sharing some of whats going on in our family! I promise... all exciting things, but definitely moving through phases of life right along with all of you!

The weather here in Michigan is beginning to work with us photographers who enjoy shooting outside. The studio serves me well in the dreary Michigan months, but by Spring I am SO ready to get out of those walls and inhale Michigan's fresh air and feel the warm sun on my (pasty white) skin! ;)

Last week I had the honor of getting outside on a beautiful Spring day to capture a milestone for this adorable family! They shared that this is the final pregnancy and this time they are expecting a girl! With two DARLING, well behaved, sweet boys. This is sure to be such a fun exciting time for everyone, albeit busy! The boys were super fun to photograph, it was great to just watch them being "them" in their last few weeks as a family of 4! Little sister is sure to round this crew out perfectly and I am really looking forward to some fun Basketball inspired newborn shots to honor her Daddy's love of the game. Not to worry though.... we won't skimp on any girly details... I am willing to bet after 2 boys Erica is excited to add some of the delicate girly touches too!

Spring Sessions - Tecumseh, MI photographer

Hope everyone is doing well and had a wonderful Easter! We had a great day spent with family and a wonderful dinner made by my Mother in Law!

I am committing to myself to start doing a better job of getting back to blogging. Once upon a time, I was a very committed blogger, but then Facebook got great with businesses and that was the end. Well, as always, things change AGAIN! Facebook isn't so great for business, and I know many people do not see my posts or sneak peeks there... so its back to what I do know!
