This sweet boy wanted to stay awake and eat for about the first 2 hours of his session, but once we finally got to the sleepy point, it was well worth the wait! Meet Jax! I feel like I have waited for him to be here for a long time, I remember his mommy talking about being ready to have a sibling for his sweet sister, Harper! Time flies :)

If there is one thing that I have learned to really savor as I have entered adulthood, is GENUINE LOVE. It's not something that's easy to put to words to describe but, as I encounter friends, clients, family that truly radiate genuine love, it's definitely palatable. I met Julie after she found me through a Google search, and as she described her wedding over the phone, and told me about the love she and Chris share. I knew immediately this was a wedding I would REALLY enjoy shooting. As you can see from the photos, their approach was very simple, lovely, and GENUINELY "THEM"! Their ceremony took place looking over beautiful Crystal Lake where they were surrounded by family and close friends. They enjoyed the day just "being" together at the lake and enjoying their time together. Chris & Julie, it was SUCH an honor to watch you two begin the rest of your lives together. Easter Mini Sessions 2012!

Exciting news!

We will be hosting March Easter Mini Sessions at the studio! I have had LOTS of you inquire if this was something I would consider doing... I had to give it lots of thought and put my spin on it, but now all the planning is underway and after my shopping trip today, I can say I am SUPER excited to do this! If you know me, I get super into making these events kid friendly and most of all fun. I want the kids to walk away with a smile and a great memory. :)

Sessions will be 20 minutes per session and will yield 5-10 images that you will receive on disk with full copyright release. Yes, this means you can do whatever you choose to with your images, the possibilities are endless.

Space is very limited, so be sure to call today to reserve your time. Several backdrops will be available, formal Easter attire is not required. Wear anything bright, fun, and anything that makes you think Spring. If you would like to include a specific idea in your session, please run it by Kari just for planning purposes!

$20 non refundable retainer due at time of booking, remaining session fee due at the time of session.

Scott & Melissa ENGAGED! Jackson, MI Engagement photographer

I was driving down the road when I got a semi-panicked phone call from Scott's sister Kelly. Scott had proposed to Melissa while they were in Northern Michigan and during the proposal, he recorded it. SOMEHOW, Melissa had managed to delete the video from the camera that Scott recorded the engagement to... OOPS!

During the panicy phone call, Kelly asked if there was any way to recover the video. It just so happens that I am a FREAK (after past mistakes and MAJOR FAILS of my own) about image backup and recovery, so I asked Kelly to just have Scott and Melissa put the camera away and I would take a look at it as soon as they returned home.

As luck would have it, I was able to recover the video!!! ELATED! SCORE! ha! Secretly, I was hoping that if I was able to recover the video, that it would land me the job of shooting their wedding ;) I mean recovering it was purely luck, but my hopes were on edge mostly because I ADORE this family. They are very near and dear to my heart. You might remember Scott's sister Kelly (& Steve)'s wedding that I shot last year. I knew at that wedding that everyone had high hopes that Scott and Melissa would be the next to tie the knot. Sure enough... here we are!

I could not be more honored to have the opportunity to photograph their fall wedding in October 2012. They are planning a out of town wedding and im ELATED because I it's outside and as you all know, I am a natural light girl, so once again... SCORE!

We had a FREEZING cold Michigan snow day last week, but we braved the frigid temps because they/we really wanted a snow shoot. I was SUPER nervous, because white snow reflects EVERYTHING and makes exposure tricky, however... the result I am more than thrilled with. They are an adorable couple to begin with and the snow was the perfect reflector.

I love the way that Scott is so attentive to Melissa. He's such a caretaker and has such a kind heart. I have known Scott for many years, and watching him with his bride to be is super neat to watch. Melissa is the perfect compliment to Scott also. One of the cutest things I heard her say, I was mentioning how I "loose" Scott's right eye in pictures. It's just kinda who he is, and it really closes when it's bright outside. Melissa, said, "that's one of my favorite things about him". You two are seriously the cutest!

I am really looking forward to watching you plan your wedding this year and cannot wait for what the big day will bring!

Levi - Jackson, MI Newborn Photographer

Whew! I haven't blogged in MONTHS! Thankfully, I actually kinda "feel" like blogging for once! Ha! Let's see how long this lasts!

I HAVE to share this newborn session. Little Levi's momma had some really high hopes for his newborn session and we accomplished SO many great moments :) If there is one thing I can tell you expecting parents or soon to be Bebe' Collection clients... it's YOU MUST BE PATIENT to get these types of photos. They take time. Babies need to stop and feed, be calmed, loved, and lulled to sleep. I have NO problem snuggling a babe to get him or her to the sleepy stage it takes. A SUPER full "milk drunk" belly doesn't hurt either. Be willing to "top" your baby off!

Levi is the second born in his family and his big brother Wyatt was also a Bebe' Collection baby. I am so excited to be able to share this journey with this family for the second time around. Erin, Levi's momma is considering joining my photography team. (Hope you don't mind me making that public Erin), but as you know... I am SWAMPED and everything takes me forever to finish because there is just so much to be done. Don't get me wrong, I am BEYOND grateful and blessed, but no doubt it's time to add to my team! Can't wait to see where this journey leads Erin!

Santa Days 2011!

LOTS going on here at Touch of Love Photography! However, I wanted to spill some of this excitement before time creeps up on me, as it always does!

For those of you who do not know... I have officially opened a studio in downtown Tecumseh. I opened my doors for the first time this last Saturday and was able to see lots of you who came by. Studio hours are by appointment only, but things are coming along nicely. I still have some painting and "homing up the place" to do, but it's coming along :)

Santa Days 2011 is now SCHEDULED and ready to go! I have had MANY inquiries, and was able to finally nail Santa down today for official dates and times. So here goes!

Who: You and Touch of Love Photography

What: Santa Days 2011 - This is a unique Santa experience. NOTHING like mall type Santa, your child(ren) will have an opportunity to interact with Santa 1 on 1. While we capture some adorable Christmas photos, we will sneak Santa in for a surprise. In the past, it has made for some AMAZING photos and cute moments caught on camera. I guarantee a photo with Santa, so we have some ways of kinda "setting things up" so no little ones are scared. We strive to make this truly an EXPERIENCE, and not just a quick in and out sit on Santa's lap thing... think a whole production :)

Where: Touch of Love Photography Studio (134 W. Chicago St. Tecumseh, MI)

When: We will hold 2 dates this year. Saturday November 26, 2011 beginning at 1pm and Saturday, December 3, 2011 beginning at 1pm.

Cost: Package pricing will start at $50 (session fee included)

What else should you know? Some fun things to consider...

• We have had clients do a pajama session. Send your kids in their PJ's, or your best Christmas attire.
  
• Each session will be roughly 20 minutes.
• Please have fun with this... bring anything you want to your session. We had nerf guns, stockings, hats, etc. ENJOY yourselves!

• We will be taking donations of perishable items in exchange for a free 4x6 print. All donations will be made to the local food pantry.
• Christmas Cards will be available for purchase at the time of your session

• Because of this being an event, and already discounted fees, Bebe' Collection and Bebe' 2 Bus clients, this event is seperate and will not be combined with your session discounts.
• Online proofing WILL be available after package purchase is made, so should you choose to add on at a later time, you will be able to do so.
  

This truly is a magical experience that we put a lot of work and heart into. We can't wait to have you join us year after year!
